With more than 20 years in finance and operational leadership, Amy is an experienced and seasoned finance professional. Amy grew up in the Midwest and got her bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from Ball State University. Her first encounter with accounting and finance was at a privately held employee benefits brokerage firm in Indianapolis, where she transitioned the organization from cash to accrual basis and realized she loved accounting. Bringing a financial lens to the table, Amy was instrumental in accelerating the growth of that organization over 12 years, serving as Chief Operating Officer. Amy moved to Portland in 2010 and has held leadership positions at LifeMap and the Standard before serving as Chief Financial and Operations Officer of Friends of the Children Portland. In early 2022, inspired with the idea that small and mid-size organizations could benefit from financial advisory services without the commitment and expense of a full-time CFO, she launched Element Five Consulting. She spends her days helping nonprofit leaders and business owners of privately held companies move their organizations forward, empowered with confidence in their financial data.
Amy has extensive experience with fund and grant accounting, audits, projections and forecasting, financial statement preparation and analysis, process and controls, and rapidly growing companies/organizations. Amy is currently pursuing her Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification and plans to finish that process in 2026.
In her free time, Amy loves to plan adventures in the Pacific Northwest with her partner, Paul, and her rascally pup, Finn.
